thoughts of an ordinary indian

India needs to move on to freedom

India, much like my own blog, has not moved on for a long time.

Moving on implies a major and demonstrable diversion from the past. We have been in a time warp for sixty six years and it is time for India, its citizens and everything Indian to wake up…The wake up call comes from an experience called Aam Aadmi Party

AAP represents a shared and collective hope. Of freedom from exploitation, corruption and inequality.

It is time to move on.

I am thrilled at the arrival of AAP on the political scene. What lies ahead cannot be predicted. Things will unfold with the passage of time. If we look back at history we have been always adept in the art of religious bigotry, leg pulling, sycophancy and many more negative traits. In fact it is feudalism – so much imbibed in us – which is preventing us from ‘waking up’. We, as Indians, do not really see beyond our nose. As Kejriwal said the other day “mafias are running the poitical outfits in our country and these mafias are engaged only in furthering their vested interests”. It is the collective will of the People which brought AAP on the scene. If the same kind of collective will is sustained I am certain this experiment will succeed, albeit partially. There is a long haul ahead and we need many more Kejriwals amongst us.
